Well, I was typing an essay for school(This is also old), printed it out, and gave to my well-educated (sometimes) dad to edit. Although sometimes I find it annoying when he edits my things, but then we got in a discussion on how annoying emails are today.
How has Email degenerated into useless drivel these days? People think of email as cheap communication, but all they really do is cheapen it some more by not using proper English. However, I’m sure most of you have already made fun of internet speak with “leet” or whatever (I’m guilty as well) But don’t any of you find it in the least bit annoying? You get emails with “uhhh...” when you ask someone something, or have lower-cased “I’s.” So, I want to share some internet annoyances. As a great man once said, don’t type like a dyslectic cat having a seizure on a keyboard.
First off, there’s something called an ellipsis. This is the annoying “...” That most of us have seen. Well, some idiots don’t even know what the hell that is.
1. GRAMMAR omission of implied word: the omission of one or more words from a sentence, especially when what is omitted can be understood from the context. The omission of "go" in "I went but my wife didn’t" (= "didn’t go") is an example of ellipsis.
2. PRINTING mark indicating omitted text: a printed mark, usually three dots (...) or, less often, asterisks (***), used to indicate that something has been omitted from a text.
In other words, its basically replacing a complete thought, as in the idiot is too busy drooling on themselves to even type in their complete sentence. Sure, some of us may still violate this every now and then...
Well, that’s all I really thought about, feel free to add “lessons” so to speak, and, maybe typing your few sentances in word may help edit before you post?
