((Some may recognize this from "Ye olde" forum, but it has been extended. Much more descriptive.))
Durian is a prosperous land, rich in apple trees and long hills for children to play in. Many spouses get along, no fear whatsoever befell them. It was a peaceful place, to a certain extent, and untouched by the sword.
However peaceful they may be, violence still haunts the military. For Durian is highly imperialist, and dwelled in conquering other lands for resources and men. And many are unknown of the crimes the creep inside the main castle walls, plagues with corruption among officers and kings.
Mithril, a highly respected thief and leader, has recently been caught and arrested. Much debate goes around, because Durian has so many enemies nowadays. Why bother with a small thief? Why bother when Durian has so many enemies lurking about? All this raises many questions, including one.
Why make a big deal out of a caught thief?
Mithril is highly evasive and persuasive. By bribing and sheer skill in the shadows, he has evades The Duranians for years.
But all comes the question; Is he actually a good guy? All he did was steal a locket from the guard towers, to return it to a farmboy. The locket was taken, because the family couldn't pay thier taxes.
Is this really a bad act?
In a large crowd, in the door in front of the prison, Mithril sits in chains, being carried by guards. Many people shifted in the crowd to take a closer look at mithil. Who were the most of them? Why are they here, and not doing thier daily jobs?
The convoy of guards with Mithril move closer into the front gates of the great castle of Alex the mighty, perhaps they have more plans than mere execution.
